The Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Malcolm McGregor yesterday at the age of 94.
Malcolm was the first elected Life Member of the Club, in 1982, after being involved for over 20 years. He was a member of our inaugural team formed in 1959 as a solid opening batsman.
He accepted the post of President of the Club in 1967 and held the position for 12 seasons, helping to establish and develop the Club from just one Senior team to 3 Senior and 3 Junior teams.
On the field, Malcolm played 24 games for the Club, compliling 209 runs in 27 innings.
Vale Martin Buckland
As you may have seen reported on the local news in the past couple of days, Martin Buckland passed away whilst on a snowboarding last weekend at Mt Bogong in the Victorian high country. His death was the result of an avalanche.
Martin, along with his father Ron and brother Simon, played 9 matches with the Cougars back in 1999/2000, scoring 149 runs in 13 innings at an average of 13.55 and with a highest score of 38. He also took 5 wickets @ 32.6 in 25 overs.
Our thoughts are with the Buckland family, especially his wife Sally and young son, at this difficult time.
